Looks like Harper is following in her dad’s footsteps with the Foo Fighters. Grohl revealed in 2008 that the couple were expecting their second child together. They welcomed Harper in 2009. Before Foo Fighters, Dave was the drummer for Kurt Cobain’s band, Nirvana.
Sadly, Nirvana perished following Cobain’s tragic suicide in 1994. That’s when he started Foo Fighters as his solo project. He released the album “Foo Fighters” the following year and his vocals and everything were great and impressed with him.
The album was a huge success, Grohl recruited other band members and they went on to become one of the most successful bands in the world. They have released 10 studio albums, five live albums, 57 singles, and four compilation albums. Seven of their album went on to be number one in the world. Along with those accomplishments, they also have many awards. Some of them include 15 Grammys, 3 NME Awards, and 5 Brit Awards.
Harper is the second child of Grohl from his second wife, Jordyn Bloom. They tied the knot in 2003. And looks like, she is following in her daddy’s footsteps. Grohl’s first child, Violet is also very talented when it comes to music. Violet, herself has sung many songs alongside Foo Fighters and this video down below shows her skills.
They performed at Iceland’s Secret Solstice Festival in June 2017. Dave introduced Harper, and everyone cheered for her. Dave also shared with the audience their story. Grohl said that Harper asked him to teach her how to play. He continued, “And I said, ‘Do you want me to teach you?’ She said, ‘Yes’. And then I said, ‘Do you want to get up in front of 20000 people in Iceland and play?’ And she said, ‘Yes,'”
She was only 8 years old when she did that, and it’s admirable really. It was also sweet of Taylor Hawkins to give up his seat to the cute girl. Harper rocked with the very first song she learned to play, which was We Will Rock You by Queen.
Everyone tagged along and helped her. The rest of the band sang along, even Taylor, as he was not required on the drums. She was confident and looked mature for her age. Everyone in the audience was also in awe of her performance.
The more exciting scene was Dave looking over at his daughter following what he does. It was a heartwarming video and you guys can also take a look at it. This has happened in more instances too. Here is one time, when Violet and Harper along with their dad played a show in 2018. Harper was on the drums and Violet sang at the Notes and Words Concert. This was to raise money for San Fransciso’s UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital.
