Yungblud announces North America tour for 2026

2025 has been a big year for Yungblud, and he’s not slowing down. He’s already dropped a bold new album, released a documentary, and stirred conversation (and controversy). Now, he’s gearing up for what could be one of his biggest moves yet: a 24-date headline tour of North America in early summer 2026.

The run is said to kick off May 1 in Michigan, and it includes major stops like Radio City Music Hall in New York City, the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles, and Seminole Hard Rock Live in Hollywood. The tour would be in support of his 2025 album Idols, bringing those songs to fans live across the U.S. and Canada.

Idols: A Big, Ambitious Album

The heart of this push is Idols, Yungblud’s fourth studio album, released June 20, 2025.

On Idols, he leans into grander musical ideas than ever before. He mixes rock guitars, orchestral strings, big choruses, and emotional lyrics. He sometimes calls it “a project with no limitations” — a record made to push boundaries.

Some songs stand out:

“Lovesick Lullaby” – one of the early singles

“Zombie” – a powerful ballad about self-worth and change; it features the London Philharmonic Orchestra and a music video starring Florence Pugh.

“Hello Heaven, Hello” – a dramatic opener; Yungblud described Idols as “not an album for your head; it’s an album for your chest.”

The album is also part one of a planned double release, suggesting more to come in the same era.

Recording took place in Leeds — partly because it’s close to where he grew up — and he deliberately chose that to stay connected to his roots.

The Documentary: Yungblud. Are You Ready, Boy?

Alongside his music, Yungblud has also released a feature-length documentary, Yungblud. Are You Ready, Boy?, directed by Paul Dugdale (a BAFTA winner). (You already noted this.) The film gives fans a deeper look at his life, his inspirations, and what drives him as an artist.

It helps frame Idols not just as a collection of songs, but as part of his journey — his struggles, his influences, his vision.

The Ozzy Tribute Backlash & Rock-World Firestorm

One of the flashpoints this year has been Yungblud’s tribute to Ozzy Osbourne at the MTV VMAs 2025. He shared the stage with Steven Tyler, Joe Perry, and Nuno Bettencourt, performing a set honoring Ozzy’s legacy.

But not everyone loved it. Dan Hawkins (guitarist for The Darkness) slammed the tribute — calling it “another nail in the coffin of rock ’n’ roll,” “cynical, nauseating,” and worse. He even went so far as to call those involved “a bunch of bellends.”

His brother, Justin Hawkins, later weighed in, echoing his brother’s criticism while also making broader comments about artistic integrity and how criticism is handled in today’s culture.

The backlash underscores a tension: newcomers who cross into classic rock territory sometimes face harsh scrutiny from veteran gatekeepers. For Yungblud, the move is bold — blurring eras, bridging generations — but the response shows it’s not always welcomed without resistance.

EP Collab: One More Time with Aerosmith

Following the VMA tribute, Yungblud is doubling down: he’s teaming with Aerosmith to release a five-track EP called One More Time,

They already released the lead single, “My Only Angel”, a duet between Yungblud and Steven Tyler. The EP also includes new songs “Problems,” “Wild Woman,” “A Thousand Days,” plus a refreshed version of “Back in the Saddle” (2025 mix).
Consequence

Interestingly, the EP announcement explicitly ties to the VMA tribute. The artists said in a joint statement: “Long live rock n roll music.

It’s a strategic move: he leapt into the rock domain via homage, now solidifying the bond with rock legends by making new music together. Whether critics will see it as genuine or opportunistic remains to be seen.
