Watch Lady Gaga and Mick Jagger duet at Rolling Stones launch party

The Rolling Stones released their new album “Hackney Diamond” on October 20, 2023. To celebrate such a moment, they went to a New York City club, where multiple actors, singers, friends, and colleagues were in attendance, and Lady Gaga appeared on the stage as a surprise guest!

Popular faces show up at album release party

It was a big day for Rolling Stones since it was their first album of new material in 18 years. Let’s take a peek at the list of the guests. We can find Trevor Noah, Jimmy Fallon, Elvis Costello, Diana Krall, Christie Brinkley, Ed Burns, Keegan-Michael Key, Minka Kelly, Christy Turlington, Andrew Watt, Chris Rock, Taylor Hill, Rachel Weisz, and Mary Kate Olsen. Ahmir Thompson, aka “Questlove” from Fallon’s “Late Show.”

The party began with a DJ set as the guests slowly started to join in. They were about to begin their performance in front of a 600-seat club. The Stones walked out on the tiny stage with background vocalist Chanel Haynes and keyboardist Matt Clifford.

Jagger takes the mic and asks the crowd, “How are you doing? You having a good time? We’re going to play old! We’re going to play new!”

Jagger then told to the crowd: “It always seems that we launch our new albums in New York, we’ve done it in a blimp [in 2002]. We’ve done it on a flatbed truck going down Fifth Avenue [in 1975]. We did it in a convertible going over the Brooklyn Bridge [in 1997] and a train going into Grand Central [in 1989]. We were missing the launches so much that we had to make another album to come back and relaunch it.”

After finishing “Tumbling Dance,” Jagger gave a little introduction to his next song; “This is the first club gig we’ve played in a long time in New York, I used to come to this club when it was called the Highline. Then it was called Blow and then Powder. Anyway, it’s great to be here making a racket. We’re going to make a racket with this next one. It’s called ‘Bite My Head Off.’”

The band then performed their six songs, including, Hackney Diamonds, “Angry”, “Whole Wide World”, “Bite My Head Off”, “Tumbling Dice” and “Jumping Jack Flash.”

Lady Gaga Surprises the Crowd

When the band was gonna play “Sweet Sounds of Heaven” from Hackney Diamonds, they welcomed their special guest: Lady Gaga. Gaga was featured on their single, “Sweet Sounds of Heaven”, and Gaga with her powerful voice blasted the stage.

The moment really was impossible to top. The attendees of the club will never forget the historic event that they had just witnessed. The Oscar Winner and Jagger’s epic voice combination was more than anyone could ask for.

This was not the first time Gaga performed with Jagger on stage, she had joined the band back in 2012, December at  Prudential Center in Newark, N.J.

That night would’ve been truly historic if these two artists had been there. Stevie Wonder, who was featured as an instrumentalist for their single, and the iconic Beatles artist, Paul McCartney who was featured on bass. The Beatles were on their tour of Australia, so it wasn’t possible.

After performing “Sweet Sounds of Heaven”, Lady Gaga gave a shoutout before leaving the stage, “New York, the Rolling Stones!” She exchanged hugs and kisses with the band. The moment couldn’t have been more iconic.
