Chris also praised his brother and bandmate Rich Robinson, saying that Rich brought a level of spontaneity to the album that made it special. Rich Robinson shared similar feelings about the album. He described it as “transformative” for the band and said it helped them reconnect with their roots. By working together closely in the studio, the brothers rediscovered the creative spark that made The Black Crowes so powerful in the first place. While the album is said to sound harder and more jagged at times, it still stays true to the band’s musical identity.
The excitement around this release comes after a successful few years for the band. Their last album, Happiness Bastards, was released in 2024 and received strong praise. It was even nominated for Best Rock Album at the 2025 Grammy Awards. Although the award ultimately went to The Rolling Stones for Hackney Diamonds, the nomination proved that The Black Crowes remain a respected force in rock music.
Fans have already gotten a taste of what’s coming next. The album opens with the track “Profane Prophecy,” which features fun, funky lyrics and confident energy. The song includes the memorable line:
