Ringo Starr is proving once again that age is just a number. At 85 years old, the legendary former Beatles drummer is releasing a brand-new album titled Long Long Road, arriving April 24 through Universal Music Enterprises. The 10-track project is his second collaboration in a year with producer T Bone Burnett, following 2025’s Look Up.
And this time, Ringo isn’t traveling the road alone.
A Record Full of Friends
Long Long Road features an impressive group of guest artists from the worlds of country, Americana, and rock. Among them are St. Vincent, Billy Strings, and Sheryl Crow. The first single, “It’s Been Too Long,” also includes vocals from Molly Tuttle and Sarah Jarosz.
The result is a warm, rootsy sound that blends classic songwriting with modern energy. Burnett has said he’s always loved Ringo’s voice and drumming, and he wanted to surround him with some of Nashville’s most exciting young musicians. That mix of experience and fresh talent gives the album a lively, heartfelt feel.
Inspired by Country and Americana
This album leans into country and Americana influences. There’s even a cover of a lesser-known song by rockabilly legend Carl Perkins called “I Don’t See Me in Your Eyes Anymore.” That choice shows Ringo’s deep respect for American roots music — something that has inspired him throughout his career.
The album’s title, Long Long Road, reflects Ringo’s own journey. From his early days in Liverpool to global fame with The Beatles and decades of solo work, he’s truly been on a long road. In interviews, Ringo has said he feels lucky to be working with Burnett at this stage in his life. After finishing Look Up, he didn’t expect another album to come so quickly — but the songs simply “happened.”
Sometimes, he says, you make the right turn in life. For him, teaming up with Burnett was one of those right turns.

Back on the Road
Ringo won’t just be releasing music — he’ll also be performing live. He has a short North American tour scheduled this spring and summer, beginning May 28 in Temecula, California, and ending June 14 in Los Angeles. Even at 85, he continues to bring his energy and positivity to the stage.
Why This Album Matters
Long Long Road isn’t just another release. It shows that creativity doesn’t fade with time. Ringo Starr remains curious, open to collaboration, and excited about making music. By working with both longtime professionals and younger artists, he bridges generations.
For fans of The Beatles, country music, or heartfelt songwriting, this album is a reminder that the journey doesn’t stop. As Ringo might say: peace and love — and keep moving forward down that long, long road.
