Exciting news for Ozzy Osbourne fans — the long-awaited Ozzy Osbourne biopic is finally moving forward! Jack Osbourne revealed that a “phenomenal actor” has been chosen to play his late father, though the name hasn’t been announced yet. A director is also attached, and the script is being rewritten.
The movie will tell the story of Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne’s life together, from his days as the frontman of Black Sabbath to his solo career. It will cover his music, fame, personal life, and his relationship with Sharon.
Jack said the project has been in the works for around six years, but now it’s moving full steam ahead. The film is being produced with Sony Pictures and Polygram Entertainment, and Jack and Sharon are producing through their Osbourne Media label.
The biopic will likely focus on about 20 years of Ozzy’s life, from the release of Blizzard of Ozz to his rise as a solo superstar, while also showing his marriage and business partnership with Sharon.
Ozzy knew about the project before he passed away in 2025, and he was relaxed about it, joking that he just wanted to know when it would be released so he could watch it.
Fans are now eagerly waiting for updates about who will play Ozzy, when filming starts, and the movie’s release date. One thing is for sure — it’s going to be a must-watch for rock and metal fans everywhere
