moments of her husband, the legendary Ozzy Osbourne. The Prince of Darkness passed away on July 22, just 17 days after performing at Black Sabbath’s grand Back to the Beginning concert at Villa Park.
During her interview on Piers Morgan Uncensored, Sharon was asked if Ozzy knew the end was coming. Her answer was heartbreaking but honest: yes, he did.
🩺 A Year Filled With Illness
Sharon explained that Ozzy had been seriously ill throughout the year. He battled sepsis, suffered pneumonia three times, and dealt with constant, severe pain. When they returned to England to meet a new medical team, one doctor warned Ozzy clearly:
“If you do this Villa Park show, that’s it. You’re not going to get through it.”
But Ozzy didn’t hesitate. Sharon said that he looked at her and simply insisted:
“I’m doing it. I want to do it.”
Even though his body was failing, his spirit never did. Performing one last time meant everything to him.
💉 Endless Medication and a Fading Body
Sharon described how Ozzy had been on extremely strong antibiotics. Each shot took 20 minutes to administer, and he needed it twice a day. The treatment was so intense it wiped out everything in his body — good and bad — and he just couldn’t recover from it.
Despite all the medical help and all his determination, his health continued to decline.
💔 “He’s Gone.”
Sharon then shared the most painful moment of all — the moment she found Ozzy.
He had gone downstairs to work out, something he always tried to do, even when sick. Just 20 minutes later, Sharon heard screaming. She rushed downstairs to find Ozzy had gone into cardiac arrest. Paramedics tried desperately to revive him.
But Sharon knew instantly.
“Don’t — just leave him. You can’t. He’s gone.”
Even after being flown to the hospital by helicopter, doctors couldn’t bring him back.
❤️ His Final Words to Sharon
The most emotional part of Sharon’s story came when she shared Ozzy’s last words to her.
Earlier that morning, he woke her gently and said:
“Kiss me.”
“Hug me tight.”
Sharon now wonders if she could have done more — told him she loved him more, held him longer, stayed close just a little bit more. It’s a feeling many people who’ve lost someone can relate to deeply.
🌹 A Peaceful Goodbye from a Rock Legend
Ozzy’s last days were filled with pain, but also with love. He achieved one final dream — performing for his fans one last time — and spent his final hours with the woman who had stood by him through every storm.
Ozzy Osbourne leaves behind a legacy that will live forever. His music, his attitude, and his larger-than-life presence changed rock history. And in Sharon’s emotional retelling, we are reminded that behind the metal legend was a man who loved deeply, fought fiercely, and said goodbye with tenderness.
