Radiohead postpone two Copenhagen dates after Thom Yorke diagnosed with “extreme” infection

Radiohead fans in Copenhagen received disappointing news on December 1st. The band announced on their social media pages that their concerts scheduled for December 1st and 2nd at the Royal Arena had to be postponed. The reason for the sudden change was that Thom Yorke has come down with a severe throat infection, making it impossible for him to sing.

In their statement, the band shared how upset they were about the situation. They said they were “devastated” to postpone the shows, especially with such short notice. They also explained that Thom is currently receiving treatment and they are hopeful he will recover in time for their next two shows in Copenhagen, planned for December 4th and 5th.

Even though the news was disappointing, Radiohead acted quickly to make things right. The postponed shows have already been rescheduled for December 15th and 16th, giving fans a new chance to see them without losing their tickets.

The band also took a moment to thank their fans for the amazing reactions they’ve received so far on this tour. They said they’ve been “blown away” by the energy of the crowd and are loving being back on stage after such a long time away.

These concerts are especially meaningful because Radiohead is currently on their first tour in seven years. The tour kicked off in Madrid on November 4th and has already featured a mix of classic songs and deep cuts that longtime fans love. Their shows in London were a huge success, even breaking an attendance record at the O2 Arena, with more than 22,000 people attending the final night.

Christian D’Acuna, Senior Programming Director at the O2, praised the band, saying it was an honor to host them and noting that each night offered a unique setlist covering their incredible career.

While the postponed Copenhagen shows are a bump in the road, fans are still excited. With new dates already set and Thom Yorke on the mend, Radiohead’s long-awaited return to the stage continues to be one of the biggest music moments of the year.
