Street closures and event logistics (like setting up the star plaque) will begin earlier in the morning.
In short: it’s going to be a big, celebratory moment not only for Def Leppard, but also for fans and for rock history.
Why This Honor Matters
A star on the Walk of Fame isn’t just decoration — it’s a symbolic acknowledgment that an artist has left an indelible mark on entertainment culture. Over 2,800 stars now line Hollywood and Vine, covering categories like Motion Pictures, Television, Live Performance, Radio, and Recording.
For Def Leppard, this is more than just recognition; it’s a public acknowledgment of their legacy, their influence, and their staying power.
This British rock outfit — Joe Elliott (vocals), Phil Collen (guitar), Rick Savage (bass), Vivian Campbell (guitar), and Rick Allen (drums) — has been powerfully influential since the late ’70s and ’80s.
They’ve sold more than 110 million albums worldwide, and in the U.S. alone, they’ve earned two Diamond Awards (for massive album sales).
Some of their biggest albums include Pyromania and Hysteria — both of which are considered landmarks in rock.
Their hit songs (“Pour Some Sugar on Me,” “Rock of Ages,” “Love Bites,” and more) have become staples of rock radio and live shows.
They were also inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2019.
Over the years, the band has not only delivered chart success but also dozens of stadium-size tours. Their reputation as a live act is a big part of their appeal.
