Sammy Hagar Celebrates Van Halen with New Live Album ‘The Residency’

Rock legend Sammy Hagar is bringing the energy of his Las Vegas shows straight to fans with his new live album, The Residency, coming out October 10, 2025.

The album was recorded during Hagar’s Best of All Worlds residency at Dolby Live in Las Vegas earlier this year. It’s packed with fan-favorite songs from Van Halen’s Hagar era along with some of Sammy’s biggest solo hits.

The Band

Sammy isn’t rocking alone! He’s joined by:

Michael Anthony – former Van Halen bassist

Joe Satriani – guitar legend

Rai Thistlewayte – keyboards and guitar

Kenny Aronoff – drums (stepping in for Jason Bonham)

Album Highlights

Both physical and digital versions are coming, each with a special bonus track:

Physical: “Panama”

Digital: “When It’s Love”

You can already hear two tracks: “Best of Both Worlds” and “Encore, Thank You, Goodnight.

One special highlight is “Summer Nights”. Sammy says this was the first song he wrote with Eddie Van Halen for the 5150 album, and the lyrics flowed “like a river of consciousness.”
